How We Can Help

How We Can Help

Here at Nunn Psychiatric Care we treat a wide variety of patients. Our goal is to build a therapeutic and trusting relationship with our clients. If the client has hope for the future, the likelihood of remission is great!

Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia

Dementia is a disease that changes how the brain works. It occurs gradually over time and can affect thought, memory, language, and behavior. The only absolute means of diagnosing AD is by recognizing symptoms (or upon autopsy).

Why Nunn Psychiatric Care?

Being board certified in both geriatric primary care and psychiatric care, I have the knowledge and experience to evaluate, review medical records, and perform testing to diagnose AD. The only absolute way to diagnose AD is either by recognizing symptoms and autopsy.

Goals of Treatment:

Maximize functional performance through medications and other therapies.

Diagnose and treat co-morbid conditions that generally occur with AD such as depression, delirium, delusions, and behavioral disturbances.

Offer counseling and recommendations of care to caregivers and family.

Through ongoing screenings, observations, and treatment Nunn Psychiatric Care can help slow the progression of the disease as well as minimize behaviors.
